#GivingTuesday

Save the Date: November 29, 2016

Held on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday is a international movement to kick off the end-of-year giving season. Uniting countries and nonprofit organizations around the world, #GivingTuesday encourages philanthropy and small acts of kindness—amplifying our capacity to care for and empower one another. Now in its fifth year, #GivingTuesday provides a platform for people to address local challenges and bring about real change through donations of time, resources and talents.

At Twende Solar, we believe that creating access to sustainable energy is essential for achieving a more equitable society and advancing the quest for global energy independence. Lead by renewable energy professionals and advocates, Twende seeks to empower the most remote communities around the world with solar PV systems in an effort to expand educational opportunities, eliminate poverty, strengthen economies, and protect our beloved ecosystems.

In 2016, Twende Solar installed a combined 32.6kW of solar PV—these projects brought a clean, reliable source of electricity to the Maya Jaguar School in Guatemala and the Stephen Mazujian Middle School in Cambodia. Paired with a solar curriculum for students to learn about and engage with the PV systems powering their school, Twende hopes to inspire the youth of these communities to pursue STEM career paths and the expansion of renewable energy systems in these communities.

As technologies become more efficient and less expensive we have an opportunity to help developing countries leap frog developed nations in modernizing and expanding their energy infrastructure.

Join the movement and support Twende Solar this #GivingTuesday. Your donation will support future electrification projects worldwide!
