In 2010 Twende Solar co-founders John Grieser and Brandon Little installed solar on 12 sites throughout Tanzania, ranging from schools, medical clinics and community centers. After installing solar on a dormitory for deaf students attending the Malangali Secondary School a student, Regan John Mahondo, sent us a heartfelt letter describing his excitement for the project and the impact it would have on both current and future students.

Thrilled by Regan's newfound passion for solar and the opportunities it provided him and his peers, John returned to Tanzania the following year to install solar on 13 additional sites. This along with many other touching international encounters ultimately lead to the creation of Twende Solar—Let's go solar, together!
